Campaigns
Campaign 1: The Rise of the Republic (396 B.C.) — Command the early Roman Republic as it expands from a regional power to master of the Italian peninsula. Begin with the Conquest of Veii against the Etruscans, repel the Senonian Celtic invasion, subdue the Volsci, campaign through Campania, and push to the Adriatic coast. Seven scenarios trace Rome’s transformation from city-state to Mediterranean power.
Campaign 2: Hannibal’s Journey (219 B.C.) — Take on the role of Hannibal Barca, the legendary Carthaginian commander. Lead your army from Iberia, cross the Rhone, and descend into Italy to challenge Rome on its own soil. Fight through the battles of Ticinus, Trebia, and Lake Trasimene in six scenarios covering one of history’s most daring military campaigns.
Gameplay
The same proven hex-based engine behind Wargames of 1939 powers Populus Romanus, adapted for ancient warfare. Legions hold the line, cavalry flanks the enemy, bowmen harass from range, and war elephants can trample through opposition. Units stationed in towns heal between engagements, making territorial control a key part of your strategy.
The REMASTERED edition of Populus Romanus is currently in development and coming soon to Google Play.
